The XFL reportedly suspended operations Friday and terminated employees of the spring football league.
According to multiple reports, day to day operations were suspended immediately, and all XFL employees also lost their jobs. The move comes after the league had to stop play because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The statement was read to employees through a conference call by League President Jeffrey Pollack. No questions were taken. Call lasted all of 10 minutes

The XFL just laid me off.
I really think I did some of the best work in social media this year, so this really hurts. If you need someone for social, written content, meme goofin’ or anything at all, I’m your guy.

The XFL just held a conference call in which all employees were told the league is suspending operations. Said one: “The word they used was ‘shut down’.”

Well, the XFL just FIRED me and everyone else that worked there.
Not the best month I’ve ever had I’ll say that much.

This absolutely sucks, and it’s terrible. There’s no other way to spin it. What a horrible day for news in the world of sports. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
The XFL was awesome before coronavirus ended the season. I loved every single second of the action, and now it looks like it might be over.
I will point out that it says operations are suspended, but nobody said it’s gone forever. Maybe Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck are hoping to ride out the coronavirus storm and then reassess the situation in the fall.
All I know for sure is that a lot of people put in a ton of hard work into making the XFL a success, and it was rolling before the crisis ravaged America.

Let’s hope McMahon and Luck find a way to bring it back in 2021. As a football fan, nothing would make me happier.
