Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to push for the starting job from day one.

According to Adam Schefter, Burrow has been saying the playbook for weeks and is “far ahead” of where he might be expected to be. The LSU Heisman winner is expected to push for the starting job immediately.

As I pointed out to a close friend of mine the other day, star quarterbacks are more ready than ever to play immediately coming out of college. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

With the way NFL offenses are evolving, elite college passers are much more likely step in right away and play.

The Bengals didn’t take Joe Burrow first overall to ride the bench. They took the former LSU star first overall to become the face of the franchise.

While it’s unclear what the team intends to do with Andy Dalton, there’s no doubt this is Joe Burrow’s team going forward.

He’s going to almost certainly be the starter week one, and that’s good news for fans of the franchise. Burrow is bringing hope and energy with him.
