2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden discussed violence against women and domestic violence survivors with failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Tuesday afternoon without addressing Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations.

Clinton joined Biden on a live stream where the two discussed Biden’s work related to the Violence Against Women Act, which Biden introduced in 1990. Clinton praised Biden’s work to protect women from domestic violence while Biden said that “all survivors” need support and care.

“No one should be forced to stay with their abuser,” Biden said, discussing options that survivors have and stressing that survivors should use the National Domestic Violence Hotline if they are in danger. “Today I released a proposal of how I would address the scourge of violence against women during this public health crisis,” he added, apparently referring to his “Biden Plan To End Violence Against Women.”

The former vice president’s discussion of domestic violence came as he ignores many requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation and other media outlets regarding developments related to Reade’s allegations of sexual assault, including Reade’s Tuesday call for him to release documents pertaining to his time in the Senate.

Reade has accused him of kissing her, touching her and penetrating her with his fingers without her consent. Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign has denied the assault and said it “absolutely did not happen.”

Reade’s claims have been given little airtime by major media outlets, and Biden has not been asked about them on air.

Between March 24, the day when Reade made her allegations public, and April 15, Biden faced more than 81 questions and over 20 hours of interviews with media without being asked to comment on the sexual assault accusation, a recent analysis by the Washington Free Beacon found. Though Biden’s former rival Sen. Bernie Sanders was asked about the allegations last week, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee has yet to address the accusations.

Clinton did not respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.
