NBA players might be allowed to return to practice facilities pretty soon.

According to NBA.com, the league is looking at May 8 as the earliest return date for players to get back to work under the new rules during the coronavirus pandemic. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Under the new proposals by the league for working out, teams would be allowed to open up facilities on a limited basis for players to work out. Capacity would be limited, coaches wouldn’t be allowed and large group activities would be banned.

If a team is an area where government restrictions make traveling to facilities not possible, the NBA “will work with the team to identify alternatives.”

That’s really not that far off. It’s a little more than a week away. Now, there’s still not a clear indication of when the games will start back up, but players returning to facilities is the first step necessary before that conversation can even happen.

Even if May 8 is the date NBA players return, they still won’t be allowed to have huge group practices and scrimmages.

This is pretty much just limited to players working out in very small groups or individually. It’s a big step, but there’s still a lot of ground to cover before games start back up.

Hopefully, the games are back sooner than later. We need something to keep us entertained!
