Who will be the next college football coach to win their first national title?

This was a question recently floated by CBS Sports in a fun piece breaking down the options. James Franklin, Kirby Smart and Lincoln Riley were among the coaches picked by CBS Sports, but there’s one clear answer. Ohio State’s Ryan Day should be viewed as the most likely coach to secure his first title the quickest. Day, who was picked by Barrett Sallee, is almost certainly going to get the quickest crack at a national title ring.

Day had the Buckeyes absolutely rolling in 2019, and they were one interception and questionable call away from the national title game last season.

The young head coach has continued Urban Meyer’s trend of excellence in Columbus, and he returns Justin Fields as his quarterback for the 2020 campaign.

As long as Justin Fields is under center for the Buckeyes, then they’re going to be the favorite to win the B1G.

I can’t believe I’m actually pouring praise on OSU like this, but this shouldn’t even be a debate. While Lincoln Riley will have Oklahoma dominating as usual, the Sooners just don’t have the talent to match up with the Buckeyes.

Due to that fact, you have to believe Day will be the quickest coach to win a ring that hasn’t already.

He’s a hell of a ball coach and the Buckeyes will be as dominant as ever 2020. I say that as somebody who hates Ohio State, but fully recognizes what they’re capable of.
