Wisconsin coaches Paul Chryst and Greg Gard have taken substantial pay cuts during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to ProFootballTalk, the football coach and men’s basketball coach will each take a 15% pay cut during the crisis. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
Athletic director Barry Alvarez will join Chryst and Gard in taking a cut. They’re just the latest major coaches in America to take pay cuts because of coronavirus.

Do I think this is a reason for fans to panic? No, not yet. Coaches across America have seen their salaries get slashed during the pandemic.
It was only a matter of time before Chryst — who is one of the best football coaches in America — and Gard took cuts.

Does this mean Wisconsin doesn’t think football will happen in the fall? I have no idea. I really don’t. My understanding is the school is preparing to play and so is the rest of the B1G.
Obviously, nobody knows for sure and we’re still weeks away from a decision. Just remain calm. Gard and Chryst taking cuts doesn’t mean the season will be canceled.
It just means money is very tight.

I have complete faith in Alvarez, Chryst and Gard to do whatever is necessary to save sports. As always, Wisconsin is leading the way!
