Katy Perry has revealed that she’s been dealing with “waves of depression” while pregnant during the pandemic.

“Sometimes I don’t know what’s worse trying to avoid the virus or the waves of depression that come with this new norm,” the 35-year-old pop singer tweeted to her millions of followers. The post was noted by the “Today” show in a piece published Wednesday. (RELATED: Celebrate Anna Kendrick’s Birthday With These Unforgettable Looks)

It comes after the “Roar” hitmaker revealed last weekend during her appearance at the SHEIN Together live-stream festival, via video, that she has good days and bad during the pandemic. (RELATED: Katy Perry Collapses During ‘American Idol’ Auditions Due To Propane Leak)

“I would say I have five good days and two days where I just … I cry when I look down at my toes, or I cry when just doing simple tasks,” Perry explained.

“I think that a lot of that is probably hormonal,” she added. “You know, I’m not used to being around so many people, all in a confined, small space for so long.” (RELATED: Katy Perry Collapses During ‘American Idol’ Auditions Due To Propane Leak)

The “Dark Horse” star continued, while noting that she was also “used to going all the time. I like my own alone time, and there’s not really anywhere to go for that, besides my car.”

“I go to my car a lot — it’s parked outside of my house,” Katy shared. “That is my safe space.”

As previously reported, the pop star made headlines when she announced the exciting news that she and fiancé Orlando Bloom were expecting their first child together.

The couple have since shared they are expecting a little girl, but no other information as to a due date has yet been revealed.

Perry and Bloom have been dating since 2016 and announced they were engaged last February.
