Donald Trump Jr. fired back Thursday at Howard Stern during an appearance on the Sirius XM radio show “Jim & Sam Interviews,” after the long-time radio shock jock blasted President Donald Trump and his supporters earlier this week.

Stern said earlier this week that he hates Trump supporters after previously stating that he was “all in” for likely Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the upcoming election. Trump Jr. accused Stern of being out of touch, saying many of his listeners likely support the president. (RELATED: Donald Trump Jr. Calls Anti-Israel Sentiment Among Democrats ‘Deeply Troubling’)

“I mean, I would think at least the sort of original Howard, I imagine most of those blue-collar people that he now hates since he became ‘Hollywood Howard’ would’ve probably been pretty big Trump supporters,” Trump Jr. said.

Trump Jr. suggested that Stern’s remarks were a ploy for attention, adding that the polarizing radio host has become part of the “establishment.”

“I don’t know if he just got a taste of Hollywood when he went on, you know, the T.V. show and, all of the sudden, the establishment’s sort of politically correct people that he used to hate, now he really wants to be loved by them,” Trump Jr. said. The president frequently appeared on Stern’s show during his time as a real estate mogul in New York, but Stern has opposed Trump’s ascent to the presidency. The radio host endorsed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016, and he has made clear his intentions to support Biden’s campaign this year. Stern has traditionally supported candidates from the Democratic party, including former President Barack Obama.
