Florida apparently has the most fertile football recruiting territory in America.
According to a Twitter graphic shared by FOX College Football, Florida has produced the most five star football recruits in the 247Sports era at 117. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
Texas follows at 97 and California is third at 92.

This is actually incredibly surprising to me. I never would have guessed Florida had more five star recruits than Texas.
I would have guessed Florida was a top five state, and probably a top three state if I had a moment to think about it.
Number one for producing elite football recruits? Yeah, I’m very surprised.
Florida didn’t just beat the rest of the country. The Sunshine State crushed the rest of America. They have 20 more than Texas!
If there’s one thing I know from watching “Friday Night Lights,” it’s that Texas is the king of high school football.
I guess you learn something new every day! I honestly never would have guessed a state had more five star recruits than Texas, yet, here we are.
