Convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein’s extradition to Los Angeles, where he faces more sex crimes charges, has been delayed due to coronavirus.

It is unclear when Weinstein will appear in court in Los Angeles, according to a report published Tuesday by Page Six.

“The virus has delayed the processing of the extradition paperwork,” a representative for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Greg Risling told Page Six. “There is no time estimate on when he will appear in a Los Angeles courtroom.”

Weinstein faces two counts of sexual battery by restraint and one count each of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and sexual penetration. The charges stem from accusations made by three separate women. (RELATED: New Sexual Assault Charge Added In Harvey Weinstein’s Los Angeles Case)

Weinstein allegedly attacked a model Feb. 18, 2013 at Mr. C Beverly Hills hotel and allegedly sexually assaulted actress Lauren Young on the same day at Montage Beverly Hills hotel. Weinstein has also been accused of sexually assaulting another woman at a hotel in Beverly Hills on May 11, 2010.

Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison back in March after he was convicted of rape in the third degree and committing a criminal sexual act in the first degree in February.

The sentence was six years under the maximum sentence Weinstein could have received.
