Aldon Smith is back in the NFL after officially being reinstated.
According to Adam Schefter, Smith was officially brought off of suspension Wednesday, and is eligible to get things rolling with the Cowboys. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
The talented defensive end hasn’t played since 2015 with the Raiders because of issues with the league’s substance abuse policy.
Cowboys’ pass rusher Aldon Smith was conditionally reinstated by the NFL today, per source. He now is cleared to take part in Cowboys’ virtual off-season program.

Obviously, it’s great news for Smith that he’s back in the NFL. The dude had all the talent in the world back in the day before off-the-field issues derailed his career.
It looked like he was bound to become another cautionary tale in the world of football.

Now, he’s back in the NFL after not playing for several years. I think we’re all cheering for him to succeed. Americans love a great comeback story.
Having said that, I’m not sure what kind of shape a guy who hasn’t played in years will be in. There’s a difference between being in shape and being in game shape.
Without playing actual games, it’s very hard to do the latter.
