“Space Force” with Steve Carell is very disappointing through the first episode.

I had been pumped for “Space Force” ever since I first heard about the comedy series, which parodies the newest branch of the military. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

After all, it was coming from Netflix, Carell was starring and the cast was loaded. It looked like it was going to be excellent.

Folks, I was wrong. Granted, I’ve only watched the first episode, but “Space Force” is nothing at all like I thought it would be.

There are a few humorous moments, and I certainly found myself chuckling at times. However, anyone who thinks this will be even a fraction as good as “The Office” is in for a gigantic letdown.

It feels so forced. There are way too many moments that fall flat. It’s just not very funny, from top to bottom.

Again, it’s just one episode. Maybe things will turn around. All I know is that I was amped up to watch “Space Force,” and I left the first episode thinking I’d just wasted my time.

I’m still holding out a little hope that this whole disaster saves itself in the rest of the series, but I’m not really expecting to be impressed. What a damn shame.
