Police arrested Jay Snowden and charged him with disorderly conduct after screaming profanities at protestors at a June 3 Montana demonstration.

Snowden can be seen in the video yelling at protestors to “f*** themselves” and at one point even begins to scream at a priest. The protestors chanted “peaceful” as Snowden was led away by police. “He was just upset and uncomfortable, so I just stood my ground and it got captured in such a beautiful way,” said Samantha Francine, a protestor that was particularly singled out and screamed at by Snowden, to CNN.

The Whitefish Police Department released a statement saying it is “dedicated to protecting the First Amendment rights of individuals to peacefully protest and ask all who are involved to respect each other’s rights and protest peacefully.”

“I have gone through so much, experienced so much the last 27 years and in that moment everything I’ve gone through made sense,” Francine said to CNN. She also said that she feels no malice for Snowden and delivered a gift basket to Snowden’s wife on Saturday.

Francine said she wanted to let Snowden’s wife know that the actions of her husband do not embody her, according to CNN.
