Florida State football coach Mike Norvell has taken a monster pay cut during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Brett McMurphy, the first-year head coach in Tallahassee has taken a 25% pay cut. Norvell was slated to make $3.75 million for the 2020 season. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Damn, that is just a brutal pay cut. Tons of coaches have taken cuts during the coronavirus pandemic because of all the uncertainty.
It makes sense. Without football guaranteed to happen, nobody knows how much money will be around and free to spend.

However, taking a 25% pay cut is simply absurd. I understand Norvell might have his own reasons for doing it, but I would have fought like hell against this if I was his agent.
At the very least, I’d figure out a way to get the money back down the road from the Seminoles. I would never just voluntarily give up 25% of my annual salary.
A 10% cut is one thing. A 25% cut is next level.
