The Washington Redskins will officially announce they’re changing the team name Monday.

According to Sports Business Daily, the team will announce Monday that the “Redskins” will no longer be the franchise’s name. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The same report said that the “timeline” for publicly announcing a new name for the franchise is “unclear” right now.

I think we all knew this move was coming. The Redskins announced in early July that the name of the team would be reviewed.

You don’t do something like that unless you’ve already made the decision to change the franchise’s name.

Now, it sounds like the decision will become official at some point Monday.

The big question now is what will the team change their name to. The Warriors has been floated, but Twitter is all about changing the Redskins to the Redtails.

No matter what happens, it’s crystal clear that change is coming to Daniel Snyder’s NFL franchise. He held out for as long as he could against changing the team name, but he ultimately lost.
