A signed LeBron James rookie card has sold for a staggering amount of money.

A signed card of King James with the Cleveland Cavaliers sold for $1.845 million at Goldin Auctions to Lob.com CEO Leore Avidar, according to a Sunday report from ESPN. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

It’s the most expensive basketball card ever sold, according to the same ESPN report.

I don’t know why, but I’m fascinated by sports memorabilia that sells at auction. For whatever reason, I’m always fascinated by how much this stuff sells for.

Think about how much money $1.845 million is for a single purchase. There are a lot of people who don’t make that much money in their entire lives.

Leore Avidar just dropped it for a signed rookie card of the three-time NBA champion. You know you’re rich when you can afford to drop cash like that.

I love sports memorabilia, but I’m not sure I’d ever spend nearly $2 million on just about anything in the memorabilia game.

It’s just way too much money, but I guess you can just play by a different set of rules when you’re super rich. Life sure must be nice when you have that kind of money in the bank, and can drop nearly $2 million for a LeBron James card.

Let us know in the comments what you think about the price tag on this signed LeBron James rookie card.
