“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek clarified a quote from his book in which he said he would stop his treatment if it stopped working.

After his memoir “The Answer Is…” was released Tuesday, Trebek clarified the quote in a statement shared to the “Jeopardy!” Twitter account Wednesday.

“I feel that I need to clarify my quote that, if my course of cancer treatment does not continue to work, I would consider stopping treatment,” Trebek said. “That quote from the book was written BEFORE my current regimen, and I was going through some bad times.”

“My current numbers are very good, but we will have to be patient with this new immunotherapy program that I am on,” he continued. “But, if it were to stop being successful, I would return to my previous chemo treatment — NOT stop all treatment.” (RELATED: Celebrate Alex Trebek’s Birthday With A Look Back At His Career And Greatest Moments)

“I apologize for any confusion, and want everyone to know that I am optimistic about my current plan, and thank them for their concern,” he concluded.

Thank God that Trebek isn’t stopping all of his treatment. I was getting really worried that he was depressed again. He just turned 80 and he is battling pancreatic cancer, but he looks absolutely amazing. He has so much support behind him from all of his fans and I can’t help but think he is going to make it through this.
