One dropped phone call could have changed everything for Tim Tebow.

Tebow and his former Florida coach Urban Meyer recently had a conversation about his commitment, and he came shockingly close to not playing for the Gators. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The reason why? His commitment phone call to Meyer shortly before the televised decision dropped! Tebow thought for a second that he could now flip to Alabama without anybody really knowing.

Watch Meyer and Florida Heisman winner break down the incredible moment below.

What a wild moment. Imagine the chaos that would have unfolded if Tebow got on TV and committed to Alabama after telling Mike Shula he wasn’t coming.

Meyer never would have been the wiser! A dropped phone call damn near changed college football forever. For those of you who don’t know, Mike Shula was fired by the Crimson Tide after going 6-6 in 2006.

The widely-held belief in college football is that if Tebow had gone to Alabama, Shula never would have been fired because the Tide would have had a solid season in 2006.

Who doesn’t come to Tuscaloosa in this scenario? That’s right, folks. Nick Saban would never have been hired by Alabama if Tim Tebow doesn’t play for Florida.

Believe it or not, Alabama fans owe Tim Tebow a huge “thank you” for not playing for the Crimson Tide.

It’s crazy to think one dropped phone call nearly changed college football forever. This is another example of why it’s the greatest sport in human history.

Also, during the same conversation, Meyer talked about Tebow’s infamous speech and how “disappointed” he was with it.

Watch him break it down below.

What a wild time it was for Tebow and Meyer together in Florida.
