Here’s Why The Chinese Were Burning Documents At The Houston Consulate

The U.S. ordered the Chinese consulate in Houston to close in late July, alleging that the Chinese were using it for espionage. Shortly after, city police responded to reports of smoke coming from the outdoor courtyard of the consulate but were not granted access to the building.
