Chicago resident and and justice reform advocate Mark Vargas sat down with the Daily Caller’s Anders Hagstrom to discuss how Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and State Attorney Kim Foxx have been handling the ongoing violence in their city.

Sunday night saw a new wave of riots in downtown Chicago, with looters smashing storefronts with vehicles and hammers, forcing law enforcement to raise the bridges surrounding downtown to cut off access.

Vargas said Lightfoot has “blood on her hands,” and urged President Donald Trump to send more federal agents to the city despite Lightfoot’s complaints.

Vargas said Foxx has been making it nearly impossible for police officers to file felony charges when they believe a case warrants one. An investigation from the Chicago Tribune found that Foxx had dropped 25,183 felony charges from the beginning of her term through November 2019, while her predecessor dropped 18,694 over a similar period.

Vargas also pointed to Foxx’s reelection effort, saying she has received support from a political PAC that accepted a $2 million donation from billionaire George Soros. (RELATED: ‘Seattle Has Been Liberated’: White House Celebrates The Fall Of CHAZ)
