The college football power players will have a call in the near future to discuss the fate of the playoff.

“We have a CFB Playoff call next week to talk about this. It will be a while into season before all of this is resolved. No obvious reason why it couldn’t work,” Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said Wednesday, according to Brett McMurphy. Much like what Dabo Swinney said about the best teams playing, there’s no reason I can see as to why we can’t have a playoff.

Now, it’d be a bit different if only one Power Five conference was playing, but that’s not the case as of right now.

We have the ACC, SEC and Big 12 all playing. That’s more than good enough for me to believe that we can have the college football playoff, with the Big 10 and the PAC-12 sitting on the bench.

It’ll be different, and some people won’t care because their respective team never had a chance, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be fun.

With Oklahoma, Clemson, LSU and Alabama (the likely field) all playing, then it’ll be more than good enough to keep me interested.

Let us know what you think the playoff will look like for this season!
