Adrian Peterson has reportedly signed with the Detroit Lions.
According to Adam Schefter, the former Washington running back has signed a one-year deal with the Lions. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
The deal is worth just a shade north of $1 million.
Compensation update I: New Lions’ RB Adrian Peterson is signing a one-year, $1,050,000 deal, plus incentives with Detroit, per league source.

As a huge fan of the Detroit Lions, I love this move from the team. If Peterson has any juice left in the tank, then it’s a good decision.
Plus, we’re getting him incredibly cheap. A million dollars is chump change to an NFL team.

If Peterson works out well, then the deal is genius. The Lions get a quality running back incredibly cheap.
If it doesn’t work out, then Detroit can send him packing and the experiment didn’t cost a ton of money.

Either way, the Lions made a great call. It’s incredibly low risk and there’s tons of upside. Now, it’s time to find out what Peterson has left as his NFL career nears an end.
