Josh McCown has set an NFL record after signing a new deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to Adam Schefter, McCown has been signed to the practice squad for $12,000 a week at the age of 41. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
He’s now the oldest practice squad player in the history of the NFL.
Philadelphia is signing 41-year-old QB Josh McCown to its practice squad and making him oldest practice squad player in NFL history, league sources tell ESPN. McCown will live in Texas, make $12,000 a week and serve as the Eagles’ emergency QB.

McCown also posted a photo of himself in his game day gear Sunday night after the signing and wrote, “From Rusk,TX to Philly we are all Eagles in 2020.”

Josh McCown is the absolute man, and I love the fact he’s 41 and now the oldest practice player in league history.
That’s nothing short of amazing. The dude just doesn’t have any quit in him. He was supposed to be a TV analyst a year ago.

He was supposed to be kicked back enjoying retirement. Instead, he just can’t quit his itch of football, and now he’s back for another go with the Eagles.
Given how much uncertainty there is with coronavirus, having a guy like McCown as your emergency QB seems like a no-brainer.

Even if he never plays, it’s still incredible that McCown is in the NFL at the age of 41. He is a good dude, and we love seeing people like that succeed.
