Ryan Shazier Officially Retires From The NFL After 2017 Spinal Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has retired from the NFL.

The former Ohio State superstar and rising NFL player announced Wednesday that he was officially giving up the sport after suffering a horrific spine injury in 2017. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

It’s been an insane journey for Ryan Shazier. He entered the league ready to set the NFL on fire when he came out of Ohio State.

Then, it all fell apart when he suffered a spinal injury against the Bengals.

There was a time when it looked like Shazier might never be able to live a normal life again. While he’s done playing football, he’s made insane strides in getting back to normal.

He deserves nothing but praise for the comeback he’s made.

Shazier made nearly $19 million during his career with the Steelers, and he should be set for life if he saved a solid portion of it.
