The Trump administration has taken steps to eliminate critical race theory trainings from federally funded institutions and is now investigating institutions which are, arguably, one of the key sources of critical race theory: universities.
Universities have required students to take courses training them how not to be racist. Most recently, classes have been created that drew inspiration from the “anti-racist organizing” following the death of George Floyd in May. Although they often seem to consider themselves the vanguard moving to root out racism, universities have also admitted to being thoroughly racist themselves. The Trump administration has decided to take their announcement seriously.
