‘Name That Tune’ Host Tom Kennedy Dies At 93 Years Old

TV show host Tom Kennedy has died at the age of 93.

Kennedy’s daughter, Courtney, and his nephew, Ben, confirmed the TV host died Wednesday in an article published by Fox News. The cause of death is unknown.


“He passed away peacefully,” Ben told the outlet.

Besides being known as the host of “Name That Tune,” Kennedy also hosted “You Don’t Say!,” “Split Second” and “Password Plus.” Kennedy also spent time hosting a nighttime version of “The Price Is Right” in the 80s. (RELATED: Regis Philbin’s Cause Of Death Revealed)

Kennedy briefly hosted his own talk show “The Real Tom Kennedy Show.” He retired in 1989.

Kennedy was awarded the Game Show Congress’ Bill Cullen award for lifetime achievement in 2005.

Along with hosting game shows, Kennedy also grabbed roles in a few television series. He had guest roles in shows such as “That Girl,” “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir,” “Cannon” and “Hardcastle and McCormick.” He also appeared in the film “Witness.”

He is survived by his children Linda Ann Narz, James Narz Jr. and Courtney Ellen Narz along with his sister Mary Lovett Scully and granddaughter Abigail Norah Narz. Kennedy’s wife Betty passed away in 2011. The couple’s daughter Julia passed away in 2015.
