Around 100 protesters assembled near a journalist’s home in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday night after a local activist was arrested for allegedly inciting violence against the reporter, the New York Post reported.

Local activist Harold “Heshy” Tischler was arrested for allegedly inciting a mob to attack Orthodox journalist Jacob Kornbluh last Wednesday for his reporting on recent protests of new coronavirus guidelines, the Post reported. The protesters appeared to blame Kornbluh for Tischker’s arrest, according to the Post.

“No Heshy, no peace,” protesters chanted outside Kornbluh’s home, the Post reported.

The owner of a Tishler fan twitter account who advertised the protests outside Kornblluh’s home was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment and inciting a riot on Sunday night, the Post reported.

Tischler was scheduled to turn himself in to police Monday morning, though he was arrested earlier, the Post reported. He said through his fan account that his rights were denied as he awaited arraignment Monday morning.

“Urgent Message from Heshy: They are denying my rights to see a judge tonight. Deblasio? DA Eric Gonzalez?” the account said.

“Update from Heshy: Keeping me here for the night and delayed my processing of the paperwork by the mayor and DA. Political stunt. Will not stop fighting for you,” the account later added.

Kornbluh tweeted “Ty folks. I love you all,” as protesters remained outside his home, the Post reported. (RELATED: Hundreds In NYC Orthodox New York Community Protest New Coronavirus Mandates)

The crowd who assaulted Kornbluh called him a “Nazi” and “Hitler” as they physically hit him, the Post reported.
