The problems in Florida’s football program with coronavirus are reportedly much worse than initially thought.

According to G. Allan Taylor, 29 members of the team are out because of positive tests and contact tracing, and “most of the impacted players are on scholarship.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

When news first broke about Florida’s issues, the number was reported as low as five.

There is absolutely no way the game against LSU takes place at this rate. I simply don’t see it happening if the Gators are missing 29 players.

Once you take into account that the majority are scholarship players, the Gators need to do whatever is necessary to make sure the game is postponed.

It’s crazy how quickly it descended into chaos at Florida. We’re not even 24 hours removed from the first reported positive tests, and things quickly escalated to practice shutting down and the total number of players out being as high as 29.

It’s a brutal situation in Gainesville right now.

I’ll be shocked if the Gators play LSU. I’ll be shocked if it happens Saturday. I’m hoping it does, but I wouldn’t say I have a ton of hope. Keep checking back for updates as we have them.
