“Let Him Go” is one of the darkest movies that I’ve seen in a very long time.

I was lucky enough to get an early copy of the new Kevin Costner movie, and I immediately fired it up after lots of anticipation. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Folks, “Let Him Go” is a very sinister film.

The plot is pretty straightforward and simple. Costner plays retired sheriff George Blackledge from Montana, and he goes looking for his grandson with his wife, who is played by the great Diane Lane.

Naturally, things quickly go off the rails once the Weboy family refuses to give up the grandson.

I’m not going to spoil any of the plot for anyone out there, but it’s very clear that this movie was made with the audience for “Yellowstone” in mind as the main demographic.

To a certain degree, Costner might as well just be playing John Dutton. The characters are incredibly similar, which I have a feeling is no accident.

Having said that, “Let Him Go” somehow found a way to be even darker and more sinister than “Yellowstone” has been through three seasons.

The entire film carries an ominous tone from start to finish. Even for a great revenge tale, there’s little to no hope in “Let Him Go.”

You can check out “Let Him Go” starting Nov. 6. Trust me, if you love “Yellowstone,” then you won’t want to miss this one.
