Cal’s game this Saturday against Washington has been canceled.

According to a statement from Cal, the game scheduled for won’t happen because of “the Golden Bears’ inability to field a competitive roster following the results of one positive COVID-19 test and subsequent contact tracing.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

It’s the first PAC-12 game to be canceled, and it won’t be rescheduled.

Well, the PAC-12 didn’t even make it to opening weekend before having to cancel a game. If that’s not a rough look, then I don’t know what is.

I’m super hyped for the PAC-12 to be back, but I’d be lying if I said the conference was off to a hot start during the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s truly remarkable how bad the world of football has been rocked in the past couple days by coronavirus. It’s been brutal.

We’ve had several games get canceled, Wisconsin’s season is on the brink, the service academies are all out this weekend and the PAC-12 didn’t even make it to Saturday before canceling a game.

Hopefully, this is as bad as it gets. In my humble opinion, this is as bad as it’s been since the start of the season.
