Carolina Panthers superstar Christian McCaffrey isn’t expected to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

The electric running back is “unlikely to play” against the Lions as he continues to deal with a shoulder issue, according to Adam Schefter. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

It seems like there’s an above zero percent chance that McCaffrey is going to miss some substantial time.

It’s really unfortunate for McCaffrey and the Panthers. He missed time earlier in the year, came back for one game and now he’s going to miss more.

Seeing as how McCaffrey is probably the best running back in all of football, it’s never a good thing when a guy like him is off of the field.

Add in the fact that the Panthers are 3-7, and you have a real disaster brewing in Carolina.

If the Panthers drop a few more games, then maybe he should just be shut down for the rest of the season. Why risk more injuries? It’s just not necessary.
