Paul Finebaum thinks Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh needs to flee for the NFL.

Harbaugh has been in the news nonstop as the Wolverines descend into chaos, and his fate with Michigan was likely sealed last Saturday during a humiliating loss to Wisconsin. Now, Finebaum sees the NFL as his only option. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

“I think Jim Harbaugh’s agent needs to get on the phone, and beg, borrow and steal a job in the NFL because that’s really his only path or route out,” Finebaum said Wednesday during an appearance on ESPN.

It’s going to be absolutely fascinating to see what Michigan and Harbaugh decide to do in the coming weeks. There’s truly very little time left.

If Michigan waits several more weeks before making a call on his fate, then all the good coaching candidates could be gone.

Having said that, I still refuse to believe that Michigan will fire Harbaugh. He’s a legend at the school, and they absolutely don’t want to embarrass him.

Will he be coaching there next year? No, but I see him leaving on his own and doing what Finebaum has suggested.

It just didn’t work at his alma mater, and it’s time for everyone to face the music. Harbaugh simply doesn’t have a future at Michigan.
