The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly expected to sign DeAndre Baker.
According to Mike Garafolo, the Chiefs are expected to sign Baker to the practice squad. He was cut from the Giants after he was charged with armed robbery in Florida, but the case has since been dropped. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
That means Baker is free to return to the NFL, and it sounds like the Chiefs will be his landing spot.
The #Chiefs are expected to sign former #Giants CB DeAndre Baker to their practice squad in the coming days, source says. The 2019 first-round pick is headed there for a visit, as @NYPost_Schwartz noted. That’s the only planned visit and, barring a snag, he’ll be a Chief.

Not a bad pickup at all for the Chiefs. Baker was a first round pick for the Giants, and he showed some serious flashes on the field.
Now that the criminal case against him has gone out the window, he’s ready to make a return to the gridiron.

There are few better landing spots in the NFL than the defending Super Bowl champions. Any time you can add a former first round pick at a practice squad salary, you’d be stupid not to do it.
All the way around, it’s a win for both sides.

We’ll have to see how Baker shakes out with the Chiefs, but he’ll have the structure and support he needs to succeed.
