Barring any successes that turn the tide of President Donald Trump’s legal challenges contesting the 2020 election, it is likely that President-Elect Joe Biden will be sworn in early next year.

An anticipated transfer of power means the future of the GOP is once again in motion and prominent figures within the GOP are already positioning themselves for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. But while Trump largely united Republicans according to polling data, multiple competing factions within the GOP could emerge after his presidency.
