Vice President Mike Pence is on the shortlist to make a 2024 run for the presidency with President Donald Trump’s term now likely in the rearview mirror, pending review of his legal challenges to the legitimacy of the election.
Prior to his tenure as vice president, Pence was an Indiana Congressman for 12 years before becoming the 50th governor of Indiana in 2013. Pence did not run for a second term as governor of the Hoosier state due to being tapped as Trump’s 2016 running mate. A lawyer by training, Pence practiced law and hosted a syndicated radio show, The Mike Pence Show, before being elected to public office. He has recently been campaigning in Georgia for the Senate runoffs there, where two embattled GOP senators will determine which party has control of the Senate.
