SMU vs. Houston has reportedly been canceled.

According to 247Sports, the game between the Cougars and Mustangs scheduled for Saturday has been called off because of coronavirus “issues after contact tracing within SMU’s program.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Notably, 247Sports reported that positive tests aren’t the issue here. It’s all about contact tracing, which removes a player if they’ve had close contact with somebody exposed to the virus.

This is really unfortunate for the players on both teams, especially because there aren’t a bunch of positive tests.

The game between the Cougars and Mustangs not happening comes down to contact tracing, which has to be the worst way for a game to be canceled.

It’s truly mind-boggling to me how bad the beating has been for college football the past few weeks. Everything was going fine, and now it’s falling apart.

I guess we just have to be happy for the games that are still happening. I’d rather have several games happening than none at all.
