Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard laid into President-elect Joe Biden over Neera Tanden, the former vice president’s choice to head the Office of Management and Budget.
Gabbard shared a screenshot of an old email, allegedly sent by Tanden, in which she appeared to support the idea of confiscating oil from countries in which the United States had participated in nation building. “Neera Tanden thinks the way to reduce our deficit is to steal oil from countries like Libya to pay us back for bombing them, toppling their government, and turning them into a failed state. @JoeBiden Is this really the person you want in charge of managing our budget?” she asked.

Gabbard was not the only one to raise that particular concern with regard to Tanden.
Neera Tanden wanted to take Libyan oil as “payback” for overthrowing their government. Now she’ll be Biden’s budget director.

“We have a deficit, they have alot of oil.” -Neera Tanden
How would you interpret this?

.@neeratanden, Biden’s pick to head the Budget office, has a proven track record of creative budget solutions. My favorite is when she told @fshakir that the US should steal Libya’s oil: “We have a giant deficit. They have a lot of oil.”

Gabbard has not shied away from criticizing her own party in recent weeks, rallying behind a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling that barred Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo from limiting capacity in houses of worship amid a continued surge of coronavirus cases.
“I strongly support this Supreme Court ruling defending our First Amendment/freedom of religion. While COVID may temporarily require certain public health restrictions, houses of worship MUST be treated same as secular institutions—not more harshly/strictly,” Gabbard tweeted.

She then voiced support for Trump when he called for an end to Section 230 protections for social media platforms, saying, “Please don’t back down. The freedom and future of our country is at stake.”
