Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters’ reelection campaign paid her daughter over $240,000 in the 2019-20 fiscal year, federal election data suggested.

Two separate Federal Election Commission filings show Karen Waters received over $240,000 for different reasons, but mostly for “slate mailer services.” This number is similar to the amount Maxine’s campaign had paid Karen in 2018, according to the Washington Free Beacon. Karen had been paid “more than $200,000,” the outlet reported.

The most recent FEC filing, referred to as a “post-general” filing, showed Karen receiving more than $28,000 in payouts from Citizens For Waters. The filing to the FEC included a payment of $1,000 on Oct. 23 for “Walker payments,” two payments of $900 and $5,000 for “GOTV,” a payment of $8,750 for “Slate Mailer Management Fee” on Nov. 6 and $12,500 listed under “Slate Mailer Fee” on Nov. 17. The payments overall totaled $28,150. (RELATED: Maxine Waters: Country Headed From The ‘Dark Days’ Of Trump To The ‘Dawn Of A New Progressive Era’)

The previously filed document showed that Karen Waters was in the top 10 of the highest paid recipients during the 2019-20 year, Fox News reported.

The previously filed FEC document showed 26 entries for Karen. Most of them were labeled for “Slate Mailer Management Fee,” but others were listed for “Reimbursement For Canvassing” and “Office Expenses.” The total payout for the previous filing was $212,654.73.

Maxine’s campaign finances have been scrutinized before due to her daughter’s involvement, Fox News reported.
