A Michigan homeowner believes he was targeted because of his political beliefs after an explosive was thrown into his house Saturday morning, Fox News reported Monday morning.

The homeowner was reportedly upstairs with his girlfriend at the time of the explosion.

A nearby surveillance camera seems to show a man running to the house and throwing an object through a window in the front.

Neighbors of the homeowner reportedly “thought a bomb went off” after hearing the explosions.

“We came out and there was a big mess here,” the homeowner said, according to Fox News. “Everything was smoking and I got on the phone and called 911 and they showed up pretty quick.”

The explosion reportedly blew out drywall, shattered glass, and cracked parts of the ceiling in the house.

“We’re thinking maybe because I’m a big Trump supporter,” the homeowner said when asked why someone would target his house, according to Fox News. “I mean everyone has people that don’t like them … but not to the extent of trying to blow my house up.” (RELATED: Rioter Who Punched Out Trump Supporter In Viral Video Is Registered Child Sex Offender)
