Google Celebrates The Late Alex Trebek With ‘Jeopardy!’ Easter Egg Tribute

Google found a special way to honor the late Alex Trebek, who lost his battle with cancer in November, with an Easter egg when fans search his name.

If a person goes to the Google search engine and simply types in the name of the famous host of “Jeopardy!” the top searches for Alex Trebek will come up as usual, according to USA Today in a piece published Tuesday. (RELATED: Alex Trebek Announces He Was Diagnosed With Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer)

In addition to those searches, a message will pop up on the screen across the top with a “Did you mean?” suggestion and it’s definitely one fans of the popular game show will recognize and appreciate following the loss of the show’s host.  (RELATED: Alex Trebek Begins New Season Of ‘Jeopardy!’ After Completing Cancer Treatment)

“Did you mean: Who is Alex Trebek?” — a reference to how a contestant on the show would have to respond to clues after buzzing in when they think they know the answer.

Google isn’t the only one who has found a way to honor the late host. Minnesota Vikings Adam Thielen paid tribute to Trebek in November during the Monday Night Football pregame with special cleats that had his name and image on them.

As previously reported, Trebek lost his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in November. He was 80 years old.
