Texas A&M football coach Jimbo Fisher doesn’t sound optimistic that the Aggies will play Ohio State.

Following OSU vs. Michigan being canceled because of coronavirus, tons of people have suggested that the Aggies and Buckeyes face each other this Saturday. After all, A&M is also looking for an opponent after Ole Miss had to cancel on them. Well, the man running the Aggies doesn’t think there’s enough time to make it happen. Fisher said the following Wednesday during an interview on College Sports on SiriusXM with Jacob Hester and Chris Doering:

You would want to be prepared for the game. Now, to play them? Yeah, it doesn’t bother me to play them. I’d love to play them. Play them in the playoff. Line up and play them. I mean, whatever it is, but I think on a Wednesday, I think would be a very tough thing to do on a game that means so much

You know what that sound in Fisher’s voice is? That’s the sound of fear. That’s the sound of a man who doesn’t want to face down the juggernaut of OSU football.

Looks, it’s this simple for Fisher and the Aggies. If they play OSU and win, then they’re in the playoff. They’d almost certainly be a lock.

If A&M is as good as everyone wants us to believe they are, then why not take the game on short notice? We just watched BYU and Coastal Carolina play on a few days notice, and the game was electric!

I’ll tell you why A&M doesn’t want any part of OSU. It’s because they know they’d almost certainly lose. OSU is better across the field, and Justin Fields would feast against the Aggies.

That’s why Fisher doesn’t want the smoke up in Columbus. He wouldn’t want this game on three months notice because three months or three days, it makes no difference. OSU would do what they do most Saturdays, and Texas A&M would be powerless to stop them.

This game isn’t going to happen, and we all know what the outcome would be if it did.
