Playboy Playmate Eugena Washington said she wanted to send a message of “power” with her latest nude centerfold for the magazine.

Washington was named Playmate of the Year in 2016, becoming only the third African American to receive the honor. Playboy recently published never-before-seen nude images of Washington as the centerfold. Washington claimed the images are “sexy,” but also “powerful” in an article she wrote for Playboy published Tuesday.

“I wanted to show a different side of nudity,” Washington wrote in the article. “Most people associate nudity with vulnerability, but I see such strength in the nude form. I imagine women will look at these images and then hopefully look at themselves and realize as long as you’re radiating your own light, you’re beautiful.” (RELATED: Sharon Stone Says She Posed Nude In Playboy ‘To Get’ In The Film ‘Basic Instinct’)

“I had this rare opportunity to be an example of another type of beauty in a space that often only sees one kind of beauty and one kind of woman,” she continued in Playboy. “My mission was to infiltrate that space with my dark skin, with my body type, with my intelligence, with everything I have to offer. And this was before Black Girl Magic even became a widespread cultural movement.”
