Mayra Guillén, the sister of Army Specialist Vanessa Guillén, spoke with the Daily Caller’s Samantha Renck about her sister’s death, her thoughts on the 140-page report on Fort Hood and more.

Last week, a 140-page report was released following an independent investigation into Fort Hood. The report contained 9 findings and 70 recommendations. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Guillén Family Attorney Discusses Fort Hood Report, Key Findings)

“It’s a step in the right direction. It does hover a bit more over the whole review of Fort Hood,” Guillén said. “It’s not necessarily what we need as a family. We’re asking for more specific details in my sister’s case.”

“The report gives you an idea of how bad things are overall,” she said. “It wasn’t a single person problem it’s a big problem in the whole military.”

Guillén also discussed when she met her sister’s alleged killer, Aaron David Robinson earlier this year.

“He stood out from all the other soldiers. There was something about him that really caught my eye and [made me] question myself, ‘who is this individual? Why is he here?'” she said.

Guillén further detailed her thoughts on the report, #IAmVanessaGuillen bill and more.
