Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly dropped an all-time dumb line Friday.

According to Adrea Adelson, Kelly was talking about the playoff and said, “I’m not sure we’ll play in the playoffs if the families can’t be there. If you can’t have families at bowl games why would you go to the game if your families can’t be part of it.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Does anyone believe this? Seriously, is there a single person on the planet who believes that Notre Dame will skip the playoff if family members can’t get in?

Anyone with a brain doesn’t believe the Fighting Irish will skip the playoff for any reason.

Also, what an incredibly arrogant position to take. Does Notre Dame think the playoff can’t proceed without the Fighting Irish?

If Notre Dame threatens to boycott over families not being allowed in, they’ll be thrown out in a heartbeat. Nobody will even skip a beat.

Look, I want families to be involved as much as anyone, but the idea you can force the playoff to do what you want is laughable. Notre Dame will either accept the bid, or they will be replaced without a second thought.
