A small Cairo spa in Egypt has introduced an unusual massage treatment featuring live snakes for customers looking for pain relief, shared Reuters on Monday.

The new service utilizes a combination of pythons or around 28 different species of non-venomous snakes, Reuters announced in a video.

Customers interested in the treatment can expect live snakes to be placed on their backs and faces during the 30-minute session, the video showed.

A customer by the name of Dasein who partook in the treatment after learning about it through social media reported feeling a “sense of relief and rejuvenation” after the snakes were placed on his back, despite “being nervous at first.” (RELATED: Hibernating Snakes Reportedly Delay New Tesla Factory In Germany)

“The session gave a sense of relaxation as the snakes went over my back and having them there boosted my self-confidence,” Dasein shared in the video.

The owner of the spa, Safwat Sedki, claims snake massages are proven to reduce muscle and joint pain while also improving blood circulation and releasing endorphins, Al Arabiya News reported.

The spa owner began by offering the treatment for free to interested clients but currently charges around 100 Egyptian pounds ($6.37) for the snake massage session, Al Arabiya reported.
