An underage drinking party at two teachers’ home reportedly resulted in at least 12 COVID-19 infections and forced the New York school district to go fully remote the next two weeks.
Middle school gym teacher Joe McClements and his wife are under investigation after hosting a party at their house, according to the Albany Times Union.

Glens Falls Superintendent Paul Jenkins reportedly categorized the party as “an underage drinking party/sleepover party” for 50.
“Right now, there are a set of allegations,” Ballston Spa Superintendent Ken Slentz reportedly said. “We are letting law enforcement do their job on this one and react if necessary and accordingly. We have to keep in mind that these are allegations.” (RELATED: Local Costco ‘Superspreader’ Linked To At Least 145 Infections, Officials Say)
Warren County officials are saying that people who didn’t attend the party but had contact with those who did attend are now testing positive for COVID-19, according to the Albany Times Union.
“The adults involved appear to be claiming that they did not have awareness of this,” Slentz reportedly said.
The school district is waiting to take any action against the teachers until the investigation is completed, the Albany Times Union reports.
