Miami Hurricanes star D’Eriq King reportedly has a torn ACL.

The superstar dual-threat quarterback went down in the bowl game against Oklahoma State with a non-contact knee injury, and it was immediately clear that it was a serious situation. Now, we know just how bad it might be. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

According to Brett McMurphy, King has suffered a torn ACL, but there’s a solid chance that he’ll be ready for camp ahead of the 2021 season.

Miami tweeted a message supporting King Thursday morning, but didn’t provide any specifics about his injury.

As I said when I first saw King hit the dirt, my first guess was that his ACL gave out on him. Whenever I see a non-contact knee injury, the ACL always jumps to the top of my mind.

Well, that’s the situation here for King, and it’s really unfortunate because he’s such a great player.

The good news is that he’s already committed to returning in 2021, and it sounds like he’ll be ready to roll once camp gets here. Let’s hope he’s as great as ever next season.
