An Arizona woman was arrested the day after Christmas for allegedly assaulting her three children for not wearing their face masks after testing positive for COVID-19.

Police said that Sarah Boone, 32, hit one child in the face, kicked another, and held the third by the neck, all due to the fact the children were maskless at the time, according to a report from AZ Family. (RELATED: Woman Incorrectly Wearing Face Masks Throws Punches At Delta Flight Attendant)

Boone took off once she discovered the authorities had been called, the outlet reported. Authorities believe the woman was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.

Police later found Boone walking down the street and she attempted to fight officers off when they tried to arrest her, AZ Family said in the report. A stun gun had to be used by officers and Boone was eventually put in handcuffs.

According to court paperwork, Boone has a history of domestic violence, including incidents that involved her children, ABC 15 reported.

Boone was booked on charges of child abuse, disorderly conduct, assault, and resisting arrest, according to AZ Family. Authorities said her bond was set at $5,000.
