A Tennessee woman reportedly jumped from an overpass early Monday morning while holding her toddler son.

Tonisha Lashay Barker, 26, was identified by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office as the woman who jumped from the overpass just after midnight, according to an article published Tuesday by People magazine.

Authorities were first notified of a woman attempting to drive her car into fuel tanks at a gas station, the outlet reported. As deputies approached the scene, another call came in claiming the female driver had exited her car and walked over to the overpass before jumping off, People magazine reported. “A few minutes later, Dispatch received another call from a truck driver stating that a large object fell from the bridge and struck his truck as he was traveling west bound on I-40 at the Exit 93 bridge,” a statement from police said, according to People magazine.

When deputies arrived on the scene two bodies were located. Barker’s son, Jonathan, was only 21 months old, People magazine reported.

The alleged suicide is being investigated by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. A motive for the apparent murder-suicide has not be released by police, the outlet reported.
