The Dodgers’ Mookie Betts has proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Brianna Hammonds, after being together for 15 years.

“Brianna [Hammond] has been by my side since we were teenagers,” the 28-year-old superstar Los Angeles player shared with People magazine in a piece published Friday.

The Major League Baseball player staged an intimate award ceremony to make the surprise proposal. It was after Betts took the stage to accept his honor that he called Brianna to the stage to thank her and then got down on one knee and popped the question with a 7-carat diamond in Nashville, Tennessee, per the report.

He then revealed that the event was really about having an engagement dinner to celebrate their night.

Mookie and Brianna first since met back in middle school, in 7th and 8th grade.

The couple also share one child together, a daughter who was born in 2018.
